I’m Lola Hoad, and I run LH design from my home studio in Brighton, UK.
LH design started in 2014 when I was 19 after a redundancy from a graphic design job; long story short, I’ve been handlettering cards for family and friends since I was little so I thought I’d just jump, and try my hand at creating + selling paper goods full time.
LH design prides ourselves on the fact that all of our production (designing, printing + packaging) is done in East Sussex. Our printers are just 2 miles up the road from the studio, and we design and package everything in-house. All of our products are 100% recycled to ensure we are as sustainable as we can be whilst working with paper, and we work hard at making sure all of our materials are sourced from within the UK. You can buy LH design products from this site, Not On The High Street and our various stockists.

Founder of One Girl Band
As well as LH design, I also own and run One Girl Band; a collective for self employed women. I started OGB in 2015 as I realised there were so many amazing women with their own businesses nestled away on social media, and wanted to get everyone in the same room and show them that we are all in the same boat; we all have the same challenges, hard days, and we all feel that isolation sometimes.
OGB has now grown exponentially, with a new co-working space in Brighton and The Hub; an online portal full of resources and information needed to help you create a sustainable, consistent business. You can join us at our monthly meet ups in Brighton, and see more here.
I now offer workshops in brushlettering around the UK. If you have a beautiful space and would like to me to come and teach, get in touch via the email below. If you'd like to learn, keep an eye out for ticket details, or book as a group.
I offer branding identity services + packages here, and I am currently available for corporate + commercial commissions with my lettering. Get in touch via email@example.com with your requirements.
I love to come to events and talk about things like:
Being a young woman in business
Being a One Girl Band (running a business single-handedly)
Design advice (particularly handlettering/brushlettering)
Tips on social media, productivity, time management, building confidence and being you
If you’d like to book me to come and speak at your event, please get in touch here.
